VeriLocation has introduced a new FMS digital tachograph interface that will connect to its existing VL-CANbus vehicle telematics system.

The new device allows extra data gathered by the digital tachograph to be integrated with other data collected by the CANbus, and reported back to the central server every second.

This allows fleet managers to monitor in real time the hours a driver is working, meaning optimal working times can be planned.

Even when the vehicle’s ignition is off, the new interface is capturing and sending data.

The new interface also passes DriverID information from the digital tachograph to the CANbus.
